SynopsisThis amendment is identical to amendments SA3235 and SA3236 and almost identical to SA3237, all of which were sponsored by Senator Lott. These bills required that gun stores stock trigger locks and securely store their stock. AnalysisIn reality this bill was political cover for senators wishing to vote against SA3230 which required a gun lock sale with each handgun sale. Most gun stores would have probably been in compliance with the law already and so no real effect would have been achieved.
