SynopsisThis bill did the following:
- Ended the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban.
- Ended the Brady Bill.
- Removed most references to 'sporting purposes' in federal gun legislation.
AnalysisIt would have been a fine bill, but it did not go anywhere.
The 1994 AWB expired as hoped.
The 109th Congress has a new bill, House Bill 1703, that is a reintroduction of this bill.
