SynopsisHR3193, as sent to the Senate, revoked the DC governments authority to restrict firearm licensing and ownership. Registration was to be terminated and ammunition laws would have been repealed.
AnalysisIn 1976, District residents required registration of all firearms, amongst other things. After a short, registration ended and no more guns could be legally brought into the District.
This law would have restored the Second Amendment rights of District residents.
