SynopsisSA2629 was another attempt to open a hole in SB1805. In this case, manufacturers were open to police officers filing junk lawsuits against them.
AnalysisThe liability of manufacturers is not affected by the nature of a crime victim. He could be a DC sniper victim, a policeman or a priest but the liability of manufacturers does not change.
The gun control crowd was looking for deep pockets to dig into for violence victims. The perpetrators did not have money to go after, generally. If the industry is put into bankruptcy as a result, so much the better.
