SynopsisSenate Amendment would criminalize private the transfer of firearms within a 'gun show' without background checks. In addition, define a 'gun show' for the purposes of law.
AnalysisSA2636 defined a new government infrastructure that would be responsible for issuing licenses to organizations wishing to have a 'Special Firearms Event'. In addition, 'gun show' was defined to potentially include small groups of friends that get together for dinner. If a gun was sold over dinner, it is possible a felony would have occurred.
