SynopsisFrom the Congressional Record: Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2003 - Amends: (1) the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act to repeal the sunset date on the assault weapons ban (thus leaving in place a ban on the manufacture of 19 types of military style assault weapons); and (2) the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit the importation into the United States of large capacity ammunition feeding devices.AnalysisThis bill was just one in a string of bills to attempt to make permanent the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban and it also would prevent the importation of 'large capacity feeding devices'.
The 1994 AWB has died and the concept of 'large capacity feeding devices' is no longer a part of the US Code. Fitting end.
