SynopsisSA2628 amended SB1805 to allow an exception for victims of the DC snipers, within certain bounds already laid out by SB1805.
According to Sen. Mikulski (an opponent of this amendment): "It restates what the bill says. It says that the sniper cases have to fit in to one of the exceptions that are described in section 4, paragraph 5. The legal experts that I have consulted and have consulted with the Brady organization believe that the cases do not fit."
AnalysisThis bill was a political response to SA2627. It nullified any possible fallout from voting against the preceding amendment without opening a hole in SB1805.
