SynopsisFrom the Congressional Record: Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit: (1) the sale or other disposition of a firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person is an individual required to be prevented from boarding an aircraft; and (2) the shipment, transport, possession, or receipt of a firearm or ammunition by such individuals.
AnalysisH.R.1167 would prevent anyone on the TSA no fly list from buying firearms or ammunition. Possession would also be criminalized for the individual. Given that you can be added to the no fly list for no perceivable reason and not be notified, you can become the unknowing felon. This bill would strip individuals of their rights without any due process.
