SynopsisThis bill is the Senate version of House Bill 226. They override state law by allowing concealed carry in any state by anyone who held a concealed carry permit from any state. There is no requirement that the permit be issued by the holders state of residence.
AnalysisThis bill is very straightforward in the majority of the country. Where it gets interesting is in places like Washington, D.C. Does the allowance of concealed carry preempt the prohibition of firearms?
This law would be a magnet for lawsuits by states and cities.
