mAss Backwards posted a Question For Massachusetts Democrats. I believe the answer goes back to something I heard on election day. The idea was that legislation gets passed "between the 35s", as in on a football field.

The problem is that in the last 50 years, the 50 yard line has moved 35 yards to the left.

As a society, we are less rural, less self reliant and less experienced with firearms. Imminent threats are addressed with phones instead of direct action even though police may be more than ten minutes away.

We elect officials who recieve their law degrees from schools inhabited by the liberal elite. With little or no firearms experience they foolishly believe the words of gun grabbers as truth.

As a result the 1994 AWB, which would have been impossible decades ago, was sold as a "reasonable measure". And, come January, bills much worse than the 1994 AWB will be introduced.

I suggest that readers contact their politicians. Volunteer to take them to the range. Give them a first hand experience with firearms. Know your student and don't be judgemental about their gun control history.

Education and experience can not hurt our cause and it may help.

If any politician passes through the Boulder area, I would be happy to take them shooting. I will provide the location, firearms and ammunition. All you need to do is show up. I promise: no crowds, no publicity, no cameras. Just send me an email at .

Perhaps next year, in August to coincide with the summer recess, we will start the "Take a Politician Shooting Day". Anyone want to do a logo?
