S.4057, The National Park Second Amendment Restoration and Personal Protection Act of 2006 was introduced yesterday by Senator Allen. The meat of the bill is: Notwithstanding any other provision of law (including regulations), the possession or carrying of a firearm at a unit of the National Park System in compliance with Federal law and the law of the State in which the unit of the National Park System is located shall not be prohibited.It is short, simple and clear. There are no limitations on open vs. concealed and no usurption of state's rights. This is a bill we need to get behind quickly. As a final note, isn't it great that a senator, who has been sent home by the electorate, continues to fight the good fight as long as he can? Character counts.
