Senate Bill 1082 is the companion bill to House Bill 1288. On its date of introduction it had 30 cosponsors. The word is that the wording will be identical to House Bill 1288, which should simplify the process if both get passed by their respective bodies. It is being sponsored by Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cronyn of Texas and George Allen of Virginia. More information as it becomes available.
