The Supreme Court says that FLA law disallowing felon vote won't be reviewed.
The Appellate Court of Illinois threw out a law saying that a person carrying a firearm with a scratched out serial number could be charged with the defacing.
In California, guns that have nothing to do with a committed crime can't add to a person's sentence.
For all you parents out there, don't let your kids deliver pizza for a job. Besides the car insurance issue, it's just too dangerous. Check out the War on Guns and Publicola. John Lott points us to the possibility of a filibuster on Alito.

massBackwards points us to the mayor of Boston who wants to reduce crime in the city by random car stops for those entering the state looking for illegal guns. Neglecting the jurisdictional issues, who exactly does this guy think he is? Instead of targetting visitors to his state, why doesn't he target the people most lilkely to be causing the problem - city residents with an existing criminal record? - Other than that, it seems to be a slow day in the neighborhood. Updates as they seem appropriate.

- Reading the thread in Maybe it's time to Repeal Lautenburg Gun Ban! the light finally went on. One way a prohibitted person could get his Second Amendment rights was to use the disability relief program in the ATF. This program was specifically defunded during the Clinton administration. One of our legislative priorities should be the refunding of that ATF function.
Alphecca points us to a story about the Humane Society of America wanting a minimum hunting age. Xavier Thoughts has an interesting series going. Check out Idiots with Guns. There are four parts so far.
The commentary is a "don't miss".
Alphecca commentaries on the passage of the San Francisco gun ban. I will only say that, with 30% voter turnout, gun owners didn't do the responsible thing. Freedom lovers in Virginia just got a tougher job with the election of Tim Kaine. And finally, Senator Corzine of NJ is now Govenor Corzine. That is the bad news. The good news is that he will no longer be Senator Corzine. Unfortunately he gets to appoint his successor. Write Comment (0 Comments) |
