Police Chief Compass has resigned as the leader of the New Orleans PD. As they guy who stated in front of cameras that only cops could have guns, good riddence.
Hopefully the mayor is next. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

The suit filed and temporary restraining order issued only mentions a single individual and encompasses the rest of the citizenry as unnamed. In the case of the named individual, he got his guns back the day before the TRO was issued. He indicated that the guns had been confiscated in hard cases. Upon return he found they had been tagged and they were returned in the condition he expected.
Our congradulations to the victim in this series of events.
One bright spot in a dark tale. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

For your consideration, I point you to the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief and Economic Recovery Act.
It is a request for $250B by Louisiana and for Louisiana. Yes that was a B as in Billion.

"Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.."
