We have completed the analysis of Senator Barack Obama. His stay in the Senate has been short thus far - 8 months, but he has voted 100% of the time against our Second Amendment rights.
We have not pursued further research but have read that as an Illinois state legislator, he supported a ban on the sale or transfer of all semi-automatic weapons.
And we thought he was supposed to be a centrist. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

We have finally finished an analysis of each of the amendments to S.397. There are 37 of them, so we are not going to list them here, but go to S.397 to see and link to the complete list.
Our congratulations to Senator Kennedy for proposing more amendments (9) than anyone else. Fortunately, none of them even made the Senate floor. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

The JPFO has responded to our reply to their complaints about S.397. The problem is that it does not address our reply. They only say that the Attorney General could abuse his powers granted by S.397. Except that the AG is granted no new powers. 18 USC 921(a)17(C) defines the powers of the AG. It does not include making any ammunition illegal. Just because some study decides that an ammunition can puncture body armor, does not mean that it will become 'armor piercing' in legal terms. In Colorado there is no sales tax on daily newspaper sales. I have not found the documentation, but I have been told that this has its roots in the First Amendment. The 24th amendment to the Constitution ended poll taxes as they prevented people from exercising their right to vote.
This begs the questions:
- Should the exercise of any constitutional right be a taxable event?
- Shouldn't the same standard apply to firearm ownership?
