Analysis

The NRA has announced support for H.R.5013 in Congressman Jindal Introduces the “Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2006”.

From our perspective, this bill has a major shortcoming. The remedy for someone who is the victim of a violation of this law is only able to sue the perpetrator. Jail is the appropriate reward for those who violate other civil rights. Our right to our guns is every bit a civil right as any other and should be treated equally.
