For you procrastinators out there, your NRA Board of Directors ballot is not a fine wine. It has aged enough. The drop dead date is April 30.

Mine came in the March issue of America's 1st Freedom. It is time to take care of business.

So, who do you vote for? Personally knowing the guys from the Firearms Coalition, I trust their recommendations the most. They recommend:

  • Johnny Nugent
  • Amy Heath
  • David Jones
  • Curtis Jenkins
  • Daniel Zavadil
  • John Burtt
  • Thomas King
  • John Smithbaker
  • Todd Walker

Their complete alert is at NRA Board of Director Election.

Keep in mind that by voting for fewer than the 26 possible, you strengthen the votes for those you vote for. This is because you are not voting for someone lower on your priority list that could defeat someone higher on your list.

The purpose of this...is? The NRA has sold out gun owners rights years ago in favor of the almighty dollar. I for one will never again be a member of this corrupt, ineffective orginazation that will sell us all out in a minute to appease the gun grabbers in Congress.

I understand that people have varying opinions about the NRA. I find them to be imperfect, but the most effective for our rights. I don't agree with everything they do. And they don't seem to work on some things I believe they should, such as the Lautenberg Amendment. But without them, I believe we would all be the worse off.

Also, there is the standpoint of trying to change an organization from within instead of just walking away.

If you want to waste your money on supporting ineffective organizations you are of course free to do so. However, if you want your money to go where it will be most effective, then you'll send it to the NRA. No other pro-Second Amendment organization commands more respect in Congress or enjoys more support than the NRA.
