And now, one of those things I have always resisted: the DREADED QUOTE. From Mayor Bloomberg:

Well mayor, the NYPD would not do a good job of protecting me, if I were in NYC. It's not their job. And perps are usually smart enough to do their job with a cop around. I will give them credit for doing fabulous paperwork though, assuming they are not cooking the books, like in Chicago.

And, by the way, if the NYPD does such a great job at protection, why do you have so many armed guards? OH, wait, those are NYPD doing their great protection thing.

Can I get an armed detail when I visit your town?
