Now we have AP Lied! (big surprise there). Say Uncle brings us the details on how AP reporter Rose French got access to Barrett Firearms for her article Murfreesboro firm takes heat over its armor-piercing rifle. It turns out that honesty is an expendable commodity when going after access. The only thing surprising in the whole affair is that the MSM is always wondering why they are not trusted. Hello. - For you New Yorkers: you should be aware of A00514. This state bill would impose New York City type restrictions on the issuance of concealed carry permits across the state. Local officials would no longer be able to issue based up a belief in their citizens. Let me quote:
-- The satisfactory proof to the licensing officer and the signatory district attorney or attorneys that there is an extraordinary likelihood that such person may have to use a pistol or revolver to protect himself or others from imminent danger of death. Section 2 of the bill amends section 400.00 of the penal law by adding a new subdivision 5-a which states that no license for a pistol or revolver shall be granted unless approved by a district attorney.
I will be the first to admit that I am unaware of CCW conditions upstate, but this bill imposes a New York City kind of system and removes local discretion. I suspect that a great deal of NYS does not dance to the tune of NYC.
Go forth and communicate.
