  • Alphecca lets us know that the Chicago government does not believe their retired cops are trustworthy enough to be certified for nationwide concealled carry under HR218.
  • Here is something completely different: An American working as a British cop. Hat tip to John Lott for this pointer To First U.S. Bobby, Unarmed Is Unsafe.
  • Ravnwood has a great comparison of stories on VA gun law. Check out Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The big part I must disagree with refers to the one gun a month scheme making any difference. Before that law passed, VA was not a 'gun capital of the east coast'.
  • From the National Shooting Sports Foundation:
NEW ATF REGULATIONS GUIDE . . . The new Federal Firearms Regulations
Reference Guide has been published by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and is posted to the ATF Web site. ATF has
advised NSSF that no date has been set for distribution of the hard copy
to Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs). It should also be noted that the
guide's cover will be white, a change from the "green book", as it is
commonly referred to. The guide is also available for download through
the National Association of Firearms Retailers Web site.
  • Today the Wisconsin Assembly is expected to deal with the concealed carry law passed by the state Senate last week. It is anticipated to pass and Gov. Jim Doyle has promised to veto.
