In the last session of Congress we had Senate Bill 578, the Terrorist Apprehension and Record Retention Act of 2005. Well it looks to be back in the form of Senate Bill 1237 with a new sales technique. Now Lautenberg wants to convince us of the 'terror' gap in our gun laws. As a point of interest, S.578 was only able to garner 8 cosponsors out of 100. The House version, H.R.1225, was introduced by Representative Conyers was able to get 6 cosponsors out of 435. Without a new sales hook, Lautenberg and Conyer face an uphill battle on this one. In the remote chance the bill were to pass and get signed by the President, that pesky Constitution may be an impendiment to Lautenberg's latest infringement.
