Update: A few kind readers have responded via Feedback and the Forum. Let me quote one: Eid is a Muslim holiday marking the end of Ramadan - it's kind of like new years day for us in a way. Pretty much everyone fasts through the entire month of Ramadan, and then at the end there is a three day celebaration where everyone gorges themselves and no work gets done. (Try working in Egypt during the Eid, it's like working on Bourbon Street in NOLA during Mardi Gras - minus the beer and boobs).
I would just feel alittle better if it didn't look like an Arabic Christmas tree.
