Synopsis

That this bill is an exemption for children on the restrictions to S.397.

Senator Lautenberg introduced SA2633 last year as an amendment to SB1805 to provide the same function.

Analysis

The problem with this amendment, just as with the police exemption, is that the nature of the victim should not move any person or company from a 'not liable' status to 'liable' status.

In essence, we would be turning the future of firearms companies over to criminals and how they choose their victims. Their choice of a protected class person, i.e.: a child, would have a financial impact on the firearms companies. This makes no sense.
