SynopsisThis is Craig's amendment to Lautenberg's amendment opening up a child exemption to S.397. On page 11, between lines 6 and 7, insert the following:
(D) MINOR CHILD EXCEPTION.--Nothing in this Act shall be construed to limit the right of a person under 17 years of age to recover damages authorized under Federal or State law in a civil action that meets 1 of the requirements under clauses (i) through (v) of subparagraph (A).
AnalysisThe amendment states that those under seventeen can bring suit as long as the same suit would be valid for an adult to bring. There is no update to 'qualified civil liability action', so there is no change in qualification.
Nonissue.
